So we are getting closer to the end of May and I am still keeping up with the Bio Oil and I have to say its working. My legs are looking better than ever – except for the fact that I fell up the stairs and cut myself with my razor (how this happens to me after almost 15 years of shaving my legs I have no idea). All the little scars are gone and the big ones from last summer’s black flies are fading away to nothing. The scar on my knee I got when I was 12 in Scotland is the same, for a bit I thought it was fading but I think that was more so wishful thinking than anything else.
Bio Oil seems to work best for new scars or scars from the past year or so - for me anyway. I would say if you do have an old scar that really bothers you then give it a try the small bottle is $10 - $12 and even if it doesn’t work for that old scar I am sure you can find another use for it in the future. If you have scars that aren’t too old or even extremely dry or dehydrated skin then Bio Oil will be a blessing for you as it was for me so go get the bottle and you will be wondering why it took you so long to try it out.

Poor Little Legs/Bio Oil Update
Ok so it’s been just over a week since I started using Bio Oil on my legs and I have to say it’s working well. I only bought a small bottle as I didn’t know if it would work or not but I can already see a small difference – so today at lunch I am going to get the big bottle. I had a little scrape on my leg from last Sunday which healed very quickly because I was applying the bio oil – usually my cuts and scrapes take at least a week before they start to look like they are healing but the scrape is actually almost gone. My biggest scar from last summer also seems smaller and the others seem to be slightly fading.
My girl friends and I are going out on Saturday for our friend Ashley’s (AKA Ash Bum Bro) Birthday. Almost all of my friends are planning on wearing skirts or shorts as the weather is supposed to be nice and I am here secretly wishing that it will be kinda cold so that I can get away with wearing black tights under a skirt for one more weekend BUT that doesn’t seem fair – or likely lol. I am still very undecided…to show my legs or not to show my legs??? HMMMMM! I will probably decide tomorrow in a mad rush before the girls come over, as of right now I feel like I should wait until my little Bio Oil experiment is done before I unveil them but a small part of me feels like I don’t want to be the only one in pants (lame I know but its true)!

Forced to Find a New Favorite
Story of my life…I find a product that I love, that does everything I want it to and then all of a sudden it’s discontinued!
Sephora Brand Buildable Concealer is no more, yep that’s right the very best concealer I have ever used has been discontinued. I found this out a while ago and have managed to salvage the small amount I have left for special occasions – like going out drinking with my girl friends LOL.
I feel like I have already tried so many concealers that it’s really not fair that this is happening to me…like why would they discontinue it, whyyyyyy?!?!? The worst part is Sephora Brand still has concealers but they are garbage!!! And I am not saying this because I am biased to my old concealer, they really truly are. They are all waaayyyy to orange for almost any skin colour, they are super thick and cakey and don’t feel silky or smooth at all – and the defiantly don’t have a cream to powder formula.
I have been asking friends and makeup artists as well as googling who has the best concealers for the past few months since I discovered this sad sad new and most of the ones that are recommended to me I have already and found that they weren’t for me.
On the same day I found out my concealer was no more I purchased Benefit Eye Brightener (as suggest by MH) and so far it’s pretty good but not amazing or comparable to my old faithful but it’s doing the trick for now.
So the search is on for a new amazing, dark circle covering, silky/smooth concealer for me to call my favorite. The first purchase of this search is going to by a pen eye brightener by YSL. I have chosen this because I was at an even about a week and a half ago that had a celebrity makeup artist on site doing touch up. Knowing how bad my dark circles are I went for one and before I could even ask her to touch up my dark circles she was already on them. She used MAC prep and prime pen eye brightener and I have to say it seemed to do the job…but it was open bar, and I did have about 10 glasses of wine and didn’t get home till very late sooo I can’t say for sure. I do remember that I asked if she (the makeup artist) suggested me purchasing this product she told me if it’s for my kit go with the MAC but for personal use splurge on the YSL one ; YSL Touche Éclat (I have a theory if its French its good, and this applied to everything, food, fashion and beauty)– so on Saturday morning bright and early with MH I am going to stop at the YSL counter and pick one up, and hopefully Saturday evening I will be blogging about how amazing it is, and if now well on to the next.

My Poor Little Legs
Summer is fast approaching and with summer comes Bikini’s, Short, Skirts and Dresses…meaning lots of legs. This is something I dread for 2 reasons. The first reason is I am PALE and I am always PALE. There was that one summer my friends and I went to Grand Bend almost every weekend and baked on the beach and I actually did have a really great tan but that’s the only time I can think of that I ever really had an actual tan, well one that didn’t rub off in the shower. I haven’t gone into a tanning bed in about 5 year and don’t plan on ever going in one again (they are sooooo bad…just saying) so I usually just used the progressive tanning lotions or once in a while a spray tan from a can (ha ha I know it sounds funny but they really do the trick).
Make sure you check back for updates on my poor little legs…

Now the second reason I dread summer and showing my legs is that my pale legs are covered in little scars. I am highly allergic to bug bites and have about 7 or 8 black fly bites from last summer that ended up scaring. I also suffer from ingrown hairs which have also left some small scars. Now these scars are very small but because my skin is so fair they are easily noticeable. Every time I have gotten a bug bite, an ingrown hair or a cut or scrape I put poloysporn on it but it hasn’t seemed to help.
This year I want to be able to rock shorts, skirts and dresses without feeling self-conscious about my legs - I have come to terms with being pale, and of course can always use a lotion to get a little colour but that still wont conver the scars, so after many hours of searching the internet and researching many products I decided to try Bio Oil. I have heard mixed reviews from people so I figured its best to test it out myself – I started using it Saturday April 16 but wasn’t being consistent. So starting Today I am going to use it on my legs (all over) every day after I shower and then do a spot treatment before bed on jus the spots that need it. I am going to continue to use it and post some updates and hopefully by the beginning of June I will see some results.
I am still deciding if I am going to put pictures of my legs up here or not...but its looking more like a no LOL.

MAYBELLINE FIT ME – Liquid Foundation
I received an email from my good friend Lisa telling me about this new liquid foundation she had just purchased. I was completely out of my personal liquid foundation and I found myself blending colours from my kit or using my tinted moisturizer for all occasions (which I usually only wear to work or during the day). Lisa seemed to like it and I can’t lie the TV ad’s were pretty convincing (I can be a total sucker for good marketing) so I went to Shoppers Drug Mart and picked up a bottle of #115 Maybelline Fit Me Liquid Foundation. The colour range is not falls short the lightest is Porcelain (110), the darkest is coconut (355). The range in-between is great as it has all areas covered (yellow under tones and pink undertones) but have at least one or 2 lighter shades and many darker shades would have widened the demographic of customers.
To tell you why I love this foundation I must first tell you about my skin…I am fair with freckles; I have dry skin and sometimes get blemishes around my mouth and on my cheeks – but very rarely. I use a liquid foundation because I want more coverage then a tinted moisturizer and less than a cream. I mainly want to even out my skin tone without covering my freckles and I don’t want to look like I am wearing makeup or feel like I am wearing makeup – and I do not believe this is too much to ask but yet seems hard to find, until now! Maybelline Fit does all of the above, It matches my skin tone exactly and goes on smooth with a light weight feel. It gives me an even complexion without the look of wearing makeup and the best part is my coucealer and cream blush don’t cake up on top of this foundation which is a problem I have had with other liquids and it has an SPF 18. For me this foundation is perfect but for makeup jobs not so much. It doesn’t offer a wide variety of colours and the bottles are too heavy and fragile to carry around in my kit.
As a makeup lover I recommend it, if they have your colour! As a makeup artist I say stick with an industry brand that offers a wide variety of colours for customer blending and easy to carry packaging.
